International investigation in the Israeli lethal attack is necessary

It was obvious that the Israeli operation against the solidarity vessels in the Mediterranean international waters, was widely condemned throughout the world. The operation was described by many politicians, diplomats and lawmakers around the world as an act of piracy, and against International Law. Many said it was a crime against humanity, others said Israel should pay the price for disregarding the laws and the international community.
Despite the outcry, protests and demonstrations against Israel throughout the world, including Israeli itself on some levels, Israeli politicians and its representatives in the capitals of the world, insist that the operation was to preserve Israeli security. This propaganda which Israel has been using since its establishment on Palestinian lands 62 years ago, was not convincing to those who condemned the raid.
The Israeli defense was weak, especially since the operation was launched in international waters against civilian people and vessels. The aim of the vessels and people on board was very clear; they were not carrying weapons, they were carrying aid to the besieged Gaza Strip, where one and half million Palestinian people have been suffering for almost four years.
When the Israeli governmental leaders failed to convince the world of the necessity of the -murderous and bloody operation-, through which dozens of innocent people were killed and injured, of which eight of those killed were Turkish, and the ninth had joint US-Turkish nationality. Israel shifted its game plan and started to adopt new allegations and justifications for the Israeli hostile behavior. These new allegations prove that the story which Israel held in the beginning was fabricated and mere lies.
After almost a week, the Israeli government is using all its efforts pressuring important countries such as the US and EU countries, to reject an international commission to investigate Israel’s deadly raid on the Gaza aid flotilla.
The Israeli rejection was very clear in several statements made by the Israeli Minister Ehud Barak in which he said “Israel will refuse any investigation especially with the officers and soldiers who participated in the raid”. Many commented on that saying “if the investigation will not include these people, who is going to be investigated?”, Barak’s rejection was not the only rejection among Israeli leaders. In another statement according to the BBC, the Israeli Ambassador to the US, Michael Oren, told Fox News “Israel will reject a proposed commission to investigate the raid”, he added, “Israel would not apologise for the incident”.
Oren and many other Israeli leaders said “Israel launched the operation against terrorists”, this allegation was looked at as strange and -silly-, especially since those who were on board were parliament members, intellectuals, writers, journalists and other respectful members of their communities. It was also strange after testimonies made by those who were on board the vessel, the original “terrorist” allegations fell short of the truth.. Other Israeli leaders said that the raid was a “ self defense measure”, those who reject this allegation can’t accept the idea of self defense in international waters and wonder if this right is limited to the Israelis while it is not so for those who were on board of the vessel.
The Israeli use of unjustified, excessive force before or while storming the Turkish ship Marmara was clear on the bodies of the killed people. Post-mortem examinations in Turkey revealed that 30 bullets had been found in the victims' bodies; - one activist had four in the head. The BBC's Jonathan Head, in Istanbul, says some of the details seem to contradict Israel's assertion that their commandos used minimum lethal force.
The Israeli refusal of an international investigation, which many Western leaders are calling for, is further proof that Israel considers itself above international law.
After the lethal attack on civilian people in international waters, it is believed that the world should stop supporting Israeli arrogance, all peace loving people should participate in boycotting Israel, bringing shame on the tax payers in the US and in the EU countries to send their money to murder innocent human beings. The attack on Marmara ship should be followed by practical steps in the boycott of Israel the same way the world boycotted the former apartheid regime of South Africa. International communities should continue their calls for ending the siege on one and half million Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip and should do so until the siege is lifted.
