STC confirmed today that SEAMEWE4 cable will be fixed on the 26th of December. Therefore, traffic is expected to come back to normal within 1 to 2 days after that.

As per STC latest update of today morning, SEAMEWE4 was fixed on Thursday and came back for about 5 hours. After that, another cable cut in the same cable occured in another point 400km from Alexandria. This caused restoration efforts to be further delayed. It is expected to have the new fault fixed by Monday or Tuesday and probably restoration on Tuesday or Wednesday, if all goes as planned.
