The International English Language Testing System
فهو أن الأختبار الأول شائع في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وبعض البلدان
الأخرى ، فيما الأختبار الثاني مطلوب في أوربا وكندا وأستراليا بشكل
مكثف .
وحيث أن الكثير من المتقدمين للدراسات العليا هم بأمس الحاجة للآلمام
بالأختبارين فقد إقتبست لك بعض المعلومات العامة من الكتاب المدون
عنوانه أدناه ، كما قمت بترجمتها ايضا . وسبق وقمت بنشرها على
احد مواقع الجمعية الدولية للمترجمين واللغويين العرب ، إضافة الى

(1) ما هو اختبــــــــــار IELTS ؟

* يمكن أداء هذا النظام الاختباري الدولي باللغة الإنكليزية (IELTS)
The International English Language Testing System
في أكثر من 100 بلد مختلف حول العالم . وهو مصمم أساسا لتقويم
مدى استعداد المرشحين للدراسة أو التدريب في دورات دراسية أكثر
أو أعلى ، تقام باللغة الانكليزية في كلية أو جامعة .

*يستغرق الاختبار 2,45 ساعة كي يكتمل . ويشتمل على أربعة
امتحانات في مهارات : الإصغاء , القراءة , الكتابة والتكلم .

• ويتوفر نمطان من أنظمة هذا الاختبار :-
النظام الأكاديمي والنظام التدريبي العام .
وقد تستعمل نتائج النظام الأكاديمي
لبيان مدى صلاحية المرشح للدراسة في المرحلة
الجامعية الأولية أو العليا .
ويتناسب نظام التدريب العام مع
المرشحين الراغبين بمواصلة دراستهم في مرحلة
الدبلوم فقط .
كما يستعمل هذا النظام لأغراض الهجرة إلى استراليا
أو نيوزلندة ، إضافة إلى الطلبة الراغبين في إكمال
تعليمهم الثانوي في بلد ناطق باللغة الإنكليزية .
وتعتبر امتحانات القراءة والكتابة في التدريب العام اقل
صعوبة من مثيلاتها في النظام الأكاديمي . بيد أن
امتحانات الإصغاء والتكلم هي ذاتها في كلا النظامين .

• وليس مهما أية دراسة تتوق لدراستها في المستقبل ،
أو سبق وقمت بدراستها في الماضي – فكل الطلبة ،
الذين يأخذون النظام الذي يرغبون به , يجيبون على
نفس الاختبار . وسوف لن يتم اختبارك بموضوع ما
أنت على إلمام به ، بل بتقييم مهارتك باللغة الإنكليزية
فيه فقط .

• قد تكتب على أوراق الأسئلة . إلا أنه من غير المحتمل
أخذك لتلك الأوراق من قاعة الامتحان .
فكل أجوبتك يجب أن تكتب على صفحة الإجابة المقدمة لك .

• بإمكانك التقدم بطلب لأخذ امتحان IELTS في أي مركز

• ليس بإمكانك النجاح أو الإخفاق في اختبار IELTS ,

تعلمك عن النقاط الكلية المطلوبة من قبلها لاختبار IELTS
بغية الانخراط في مقرر تعليمي خاص ترغب بدراسته .
لاحظ أيضا بأنك قد تحتاج إلى تحقيق حد أدنى من تحصيل
النقاط في اختبار معين (غالبا ما يكون اختبار الكتابة) .
